Wildlife is my one of my favorite painting subjects, next to rural America. I remember when seeing a wild turkey in Indiana was a novelty, nowadays you can see them on almost any given day during a drive in the country. This is thanks to groups like the Wild Turkey Federation, Ducks Unlimited, NRA, and several other naturalist type of organizations. It is still a thrill when I see one in the wild. Of course, to paint one in the WPA technique, I had to use Wild Turkey 101 Bourbon Whiskey as the vehicle with watercolors paints.
